Find the first useful constraint

A short first-pass companion to the Client Work Capacity Check. No confidential files or exact savings estimates needed. Use one anonymised recent engagement; leave uncertain values unknown.

1. What did the client buy, and what counted as accepted work? 2. Where did someone search, rebuild context, correct or chase before the next person could proceed? 3. Who carried that work, and what evidence could confirm its frequency/effort? 4. If it changed, would the benefit be more accepted work, a real avoided expense, useful unpriced time, or something else?

Your takeaway: 'In our [service], [role] repeatedly spends effort on [task/return]. We need [one evidence check] to find out whether [simpler method/existing tool/rule/AI preparation] could change the complete accepted case. The owner is [role].'

Stop here if you have a useful constraint and next check. Use the six deeper worksheets only when you need more evidence. Do not convert unknown hours into a saving or a billable-rate revenue claim.

Billing lens: fixed fee—check margin, demand and remaining role capacity; hourly—check whether fewer billed hours reduce fees and whether terms permit another model; capacity constrained—check the true bottleneck and a real destination for time. These are ways to assess one offer, not three packages.
