RECOGNISABLE WORK / FICTIONAL EXAMPLE

From interview notes to a finding a partner can inspect.

Six short interview notes. Three bounded findings. One overstated conclusion returned for correction. Follow the source, analysis and review decision rather than taking the finished report on trust.

Everything in this case is invented. The participants, notes and reviewer decisions are authored teaching material. This page demonstrates the method; it is not a live AI run, a real study, professional approval or evidence of time saved.

1. Start with the interview evidence.

Study question: How do users prepare a reporting product’s output for client discussions? In a real study, the research lead would agree recruitment, consent, permitted use, the question and the analysis method first. No recruitment design or population estimate is implied by these six synthetic notes.

I-01 · Research participant 1 · invented note
When I see “revenue” I need to check whether that means booked or recognised revenue. I ask our finance lead before using the figure in a client discussion.

I-02 · Research participant 2 · invented note
The weekly figures work for our team review. For a client report, I export them and rebuild the layout in our presentation template.

My first login did not include the dataset. Our administrator granted access the next day. Since then, the weekly report has been fine.

I-04 · Research participant 4 · invented note
I was unsure whether “pipeline value” included probabilities. I sent that question to finance rather than interpreting it myself.

The numbers export correctly. I copy them into two client templates every week because the layouts differ.

I-06 · Research participant 6 · invented note
I have tried it twice and have not used it for a client report yet. I cannot say how it will fit that work.

2. Keep each finding beside its basis.

Preparation organises notes and suggests a bounded interpretation. Counts below describe only this invented set; they are not estimates of customer prevalence.

F-01: Two accounts raise questions about metric definitions.

Evidence: I-01, I-04

Limit: An interpretation question in this constructed sample; not proof the numbers are wrong or that most customers distrust them.

Question for the next decision: Ask the product owner to inspect definitions with the reviewer.

F-02: Two accounts describe reformatting exports for client reports.

Evidence: I-02, I-05

Limit: No timed effort, quality baseline or evidence that this is the buyer’s top priority.

Question for the next decision: Observe one complete report case and compare a template fix with automation.

F-03: One first-use access issue was reported as resolved.

Evidence: I-03

Limit: A resolved episode does not establish a current recurring access problem. I-06 has not completed the relevant work.

Question for the next decision: Keep resolved and unknown states visible; do not sell a recurring fix from this account.

3. Let the partner return the conclusion.

DRAFT VERSION 1 / UNSUPPORTED

Most customers do not trust the reporting product. They need automated insights before they will buy more.

Illustrative partner decision: return for correction. Only two notes raise definition questions; that does not establish distrust, prevalence or purchase intent. Nobody was asked about willingness to pay. Two other notes concern formatting, and one access problem is already resolved.

Inspect corrected version 2

In this six-note synthetic set, two accounts raise questions about metric definitions and two describe reformatting exports for client reports. Inspect those steps in completed work before choosing an improvement. The material does not establish general distrust, a current access problem, time savings or buying intent.

Return trail: Version 1 returned for unsupported generalisation and invented buying intent → source IDs checked → version 2 narrows the finding and retains the limits. The authored reviewer marks version 2 suitable for this demonstration only. Real client issue remains a separate professional decision.

4. Hand over a useful next step.

Swap the pieces: your transcripts for these notes, your reviewer for the partner, the output your client pays for in place of F-01 to F-03. If the job still looks familiar, that is the one worth a Fit Call.

Research lead: confirm what the interviews support and what needs further inquiry. Product or delivery owner: inspect definitions and the complete reporting task. Partner: decide the recommendation and any client-facing issue. The prepared finding does not approve product changes or spending.

If this resembles work your firm sells, the question is where preparation and correction consume effort in your last completed study. Measure preparation, review, correction, coordination and operating effort together. A clearer draft alone does not prove increased capacity.

Alternatives to compare: a clearer metric glossary, a better export template, an existing research tool or a bounded AI preparation step. Competitor tools inform that choice; a unique category is not required.

What we would design for your firm.

A paid Firm Capacity Blueprint examines one agreed revenue path and fully designs three connected opportunities selected from your evidence. Input readiness, evidence-to-review preparation and permitted reuse are possible examples, not a fixed bundle. The first installation is separately scoped and tested; your team retains interpretation and approval.
